Meetings

Chapter 76, Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) generally meets at 11:30 a.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The usual meeting location is the Sizzler Restaurant, 1010 Postal Way, Springfield, OR 97401, 541-726-9933.

February 15, 2012: Graziano Casale of Screen Service America will do a presentation on their latest products including Translators. The meeting will not be at the Sizzler this month because of a scheduling conflict. The new location will be posted here as soon as it's known. However, lunch will be covered.

March 14, 2012: Advanced Broadcast Solutions will bring Apantac. Lunch is covered.

April 11, 2012: Eaton Corporation will present "UPS 101", a program designed to bring you up to date on the basics of Uninterruptable Power Supplies:

• UPS 101 review…terminology, type(s) of power protection (standby vs double conversion)
  
• Review the 9 most common power problems
  
• How to size the UPS and batteries correctly for both today and future requirements.
  
• New technology/trends in the industry.
  
• Preventive Maintenance and service issues to lengthen the life of UPS and batteries.

  Distribution Units-PDU)

June 13, 2012: Jonathan Powell, sales manager, of Advanced Fiber Products will do a presentation on the basics of fiber technology, as it relates to broadcast TV usage. It is designed to be a “refresher” on fiber.

July 12, 2012: Presentation by Tony Peterly of Worldcast Systems, Inc. Topic to be determined.
